Best Bar Terraces in Hong Kong

Best Bar Terraces in Hong Kong

Soak up the skyline at these fabulous rooftop terraces

We’re coming up to that Goldilocks weather time of year, when it’s not too hot, not too cold, but just right (minus the typhoons). And that means you can ditch the air-conditioned ice boxes and head outside for a relaxing drink or two.

Here we’ve rounded up some of our favourite terraces in Lan Kwai Fong, perfect for a chill evening al fresco.

Cassio

We love the beautiful terrace here at this Lan Kwai Fong favourite. If you’re eating at one of the many restaurants in LKF Tower, this is the spot to come to for an after-dinner drink. Great vibe and even better views, what more could you want?

CÉ LA VI

No list of outdoor party places could be complete without Cé La Vi recieving a mention. It’s got winning views, a great drinks and the most comfortable sofas in town. Did we mention they have champagne?

Duddell’s

Sitting outdoors at Duddell’s is akin to spending time on the terrace at your very cool friend’s house, but with better drinks (and service). Their Gin Fizz is dangerously easy to drink, and the lush vegetation makes for a killer Insta-post.

Honi Honi Tikki Lounge

Craving a tropical getaway but don’t have the annual leave? Just head to Honi Honi instead. You’ll feel like you’re in Hawaii, surounded by lush green plants, strong tikki vibes and arguably the city’s best rum-based cocktails.

Havana

Havana is the unsung hero of Lan Kwai Fong. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, the drinks are strong, the service is friendly and the covered-terrace is perfect rain or shine. Grab a sofa seat and a few mojitos and you’re in for a great night.

Porterhouse

Not just for steaks, Porterhouse has a lovely terrace perfect for unwinding after a long day. We love their wine selection, but if you’re after a good cocktail try the Porterhouse Mule, made with Kentucky Deluxe Bourbon, Canton ginger liqueur, lemon, Fevertree ginger beer and a splash of orange bitters.

Beef & Liberty

The only thing better than burgers and beers is burgers, beers and baller view—and you can get them all at Beef & Liberty’s terrace. The intimate space (you can see it in the back of this photo) is ideal for those cooler nights, where all you want is to kick back with some friends and a growler of beer.

Piqniq

Head to the top of H Queen’s, Hong Kong’s hottest arts and culture spot, and take in the view from the Piqniq terrace with a delicious cocktail. This Le Comptoir creation is actually the city’s first rooftop guinguette, an outdoor café and restaurant popular in France during the 18th century. They serve perfect French nibbles, like meats and cheeses in adorable picnic baskets, and the space is decked out with comfy bean bag chairs and even a whimsical polka-dot pumpkin from Yayoi Kasuma.

Popinjays

You don’t need to book a room to enjoy the beautiful views from The Murray hotel. Their rooftop restaurant Popinjays is a sleek place to spend an evening watching the world go by. The name refers to both a bird (a little nod to the city’s resident cockatoos!) and a flamboyant and fashionable person, which perfectly describes this vibrant venue. The restaurant is surrounded by a 420 square meter outdoor terrace, that’s the perfect space to sip on their classic cocktails or maybe even nibble on some afternoon tea.

SEVVA

We can’t say enough good things about SEVVA, the super swanky and quintessentially Hong Kong favourite. Head to the upper levels of Princes Building to take in their exceptional hospitality, and iconic views. This might just be one of our favourite terraces to soak in the city skyline, complimented with delicious, wholesome dishes and refreshing cocktails. It’s glamorous, it’s fabulous, it’s everything we love about Hong Kong.
