If you haven’t been listening to “Bloom” on repeat, what have you been doing? The acclaimed second album by pop-darling Troye Sivan needs to be on blast right now, because he’s coming to Hong Kong this May. He’s bringing The Bloom Tour to just seven cities, and this will be his first time performing in Hong Kong.
The Australian super-star’s life is as riveting as his music. Born in South Africa, the native Aussie exhibited an early talent for performance. After his first theatrical debut, Sivan took matters into his own hands and set up his wildly popular YouTube channel. As he uploaded his music and vlogs, his fan base grew and grew. Today, the LGBTQ+ advocate has over six million followers, two albums, multiple chart toppers. He’s also becoming a regular on the big screen, having appeared in films like X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and Boy Erased.
His debut album “Blue Neighbourhood” thrust him onto the pop scene and made him an almost overnight sensation. His singles “Wild” and “Youth” shot to the top of the US charts, and he received the Platinum certification of the Australian Recording Association for 2018’s “My My My!”
And of course, he’s worked heavily with our girl Ariana Grande.
Though tickets have now sold out, you can still be blasting “Bloom” on repeat – it’s one of the best albums of the year, and some say Sivan may just become the greatest performs of our time. To quote our friends at Fader, “Pop Music is Dead, but Troye Sivan is Still Incredible.”
