Slava’s Snowshow Comes to Hong Kong

Inspiring, poetic and enchanting; each has been used to describe Slava’s Snowshow, a live theatre experience that has captivated more than 5 million people in more than 30 countries. The show returns to Hong Kong for a run of dates from August 1-6 at the Lyric Theatre, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Tickets for the two-hour show begin at HK$480 and can be booked online here

The show is best compared to a “caravan of organised chaos” and enchantment that offers a break from the everyday. The Daily Mail called Slava’s Snowshow “utterly breathtaking, the stage effects are dazzling”. Variety said “Slava’s Snowshow is to clowning what Cirque du Soleil is to the circus”. The work of Russian pantomime artist Slava Polunin, Snowshow has helped elevate the art of clowning, drawing adult audiences back to their childhoods and taking children on a magical journey. This is a theatrical masterpiece that is easily understood by all, resulting in thousands of happy faces every night.

Polunin himself is an icon of Russian culture. In the 1980s, he was known for running his own theatre company. After taking time out to expand his cast of characters, the Snowshow was born in 1993 and has not stopped touring the world since, collecting awards around the globe.

To celebrate the return of Slava’s Snowshow, Lan Kwai Fong is helping raise money for Red Nose Day, the global charity to raise money for children and their families living in less-developed countries organised by Comic Relief.
