Savouring Art – Shadow Zo – Kyoto Joe

This March, Lan Kwai Fong, will be transformed into a focal point for art and food lovers during the HK Art Month. A diverse variety of 12 premium restaurants will be dishing out unique and innovative art-inspired menus, with the theme of "Colour of Ingredients", complemented with a series of art exhibitions and vivid events exclusively in Lan Kwai Fong.

Kyoto Joe

Kyoto Joe is a Japanese-American fusion restaurant, mainly focuses in Japanese cuisine. Its lively atmosphere attracts a lot of Western customers, despite of the overall Japanese style, the plating and presentation uses a lot of Western elements. During the month of March, together with Lan Kwai Fong Group and FeedMeGuru, they will be dishing out exclusive Savouring Art Menu, only available at Lan Kwai Fong. I am inviting for a tasting.

Located at no. 1 Lan Kwai Fong, it is convenient with westernized setting, quite a relaxing atmosphere to dine in.

There are 4 small bites for Appetizers, the combination of gingko and green tea powder is especially refreshing.

Scallop & salmon roe with yuzu dressing is fresh and fragrant. Although the portion of eel & egg roll with sweeten sauce is not huge, quality is great.
The variety of Sashimi is great, very fresh, with the American style thick cut, the texture is especially different with the ones we normally have.

Rokki Chori Awabi with great sauce. The abalone is cooked till very tender, however compared with the radish and tofu which absorbed the essence of the sauce, I must admit that they are more tempting.

The Botan Ebi Tempura is truly artsy and very pretty. With the use of peony shrimp, the texture and size is perfect with great quality. To further enhance the dish, the avocado as side dish really steal the show.

A4 Kagoshima Wagyu Hitokuchi Yaki is a surprise. Originally thought the sauce will be quite sweet and the texture of meat rather oily, however, when paired with rice, everything becomes perfect. The fragrance of beef, the sweetness of the sauce and rice itself goes together well, very delicious indeed!
