One of the most celebrated voices in house music is coming to Hong Kong, courtesy of Duddell’s and KEF, the British audio brand. Robert Owens will perform on August 26 as part of Duddell’s Audio Files series, a series of events stretching out across the summer that are a modern take on the music festival.

The second instalment in the summer music series will be a classic. Owens hails from Chicago and released a series of hit singles in the 1980s, both as a solo artist and together with pioneering house music group Fingers.

A gifted singer, songwriter, producer and DJ, Owens’ hits include I’ll Be Your Friend, Ordinary People, Tears featuring Frankie Knuckles and the instantly recognisable standard Can You Feel It. Along the way, he’s collaborated with some of the biggest names around too, including Satoshi Tomiie.

Owens will be supported by the visual collective Totoro Typhoon, DJ Johnny Hiller from Potato Head and Fresh Off The Boat.

Owens’ performance will be staged over the upstairs Salon and Garden Terrace of Duddell’s, a primo location for music lovers, champagne fiends and sound enthusiasts. The event is more than a music event and a night out, with a great amount of thought into creating a unique social environment, one where the boundaries between performer and listener are blurred.

Tickets to Audio Files #02 include a complimentary glass of Veuve Clicquot champagne or Belvedere vodka, and there’s a HK$500 voucher for ticketholders who register their attendance at kef.com.

Tickets are now available at Ticketflap and you can arrange a table booking by emailing the Duddell’s team on [email protected]
