‘What happens in Tokio Joe, STILL stays in Tokio Joe’

Whether diners fancy a quiet rendezvous with chefs for an Omakase meal or gather a large group to celebrate the start of the evening, Tokio Joe still always deliver the long standing promise of great food and great times, as their long standing motto is and remains: ‘What happens in Tokio Joe, STILL stays in Tokio Joe’.

After a 3-month renovation and refurbishment, Tokio Joe is finally back in March 2021! A well-loved Hong Kong institution in Lan Kwai Fong since 1995, Tokio Joe has been providing its diners with a superb Japanese dining experience led by the mercurial Chef Wah for over 25 years!

Taking inspiration from the traditions of Japanese gastronomy and entertainment, the refreshed omakase menus of Tokio Joe showcase Executive Chef Wah’s modern view of Japanese Omakase. Exclusive Omakase and à la carte menus using jet-fresh seasonable ingredients with diversified cooking methods to deliver the original taste of each ingredient. Tokio Joe will offer Omakase menus featuring sushi, sashimi, signature rolls and an impressive new collection of Sake and Wine.

The renewed and upgraded interior decorations of Tokio Joe is inspired by the story of an old Japanese gaming den – used as a point of inspiration for our branding, interior and collateral designs. Subtle and not instantly clear on the surface, the charm of Tokio Joe remains and enhanced further with a host of quirky décor pieces in addition to real versions of traditional Japanese games from the past!

At Tokio Joe, food is regarded as a ritual – the modern subculture of Japan is allocated subtly, whilst the background of Tokio Joe depicts a comfortable hang-out location for the trendy crowds. The use of Japanese wood, a touch of bright colour, traditional elements of Japanese culture and delicate use of lighting, Tokio Joe’s new interior aims to deliver a truly modern, yet comfortable and relaxing vibe.
