We love March in Hong Kong. Humidity aside, it’s one of the most exciting months in the calendar, bringing Art Week madness (and the promise of Rugby 7s and summer just around the corner).

It’s easy to get swept up in all the exciting events, from Art Central and Asia Contemporary Arts Show to Savouring Art 2019 – but don’t forget to check out the more intimate art events too!

This hybrid hotspot (which is equal parts hotel, co-working space, and social initiative centre) is hosting a three-day, all-inclusive art and music party to celebrate Art Week. This is a great opportunity for Kowloon-based folks especially, who can enjoy the spirit of art week without having to cross the river. It runs from 28 – 31 March, and features DJ workshops, film screenings, parties and so much more (including a closing party with Yeti Out). Check out the full schedule here.

Whitestone gallery is bringing back Japanese artist Miwa Komatsu for her second solo exhibition. Entitled ‘Divine Spirit’, it’s a showcase of her latest works, including her signature ‘Guardian’ series, which blends together childhood memories, spiritual beliefs, and observations of the world around us. She often draws inspiration from different religions, beliefs and mythological texts, especially Shinto – a religion with roots in Japan, which believes in the interconnectivity of all things. Her new work is more experimental than ever before, and even incorporates 3D printing! This show is sure to be fantastic, and you don’t want to miss it.

Miwa Komatsu: DIVINE SPIRIT is at Whitestone Gallery Hong Kong from 26 March – 28 April, 2019
