Last year was the tenth anniversary of Clockenflap, Hong Kong’s biggest music festival. This year, it returns again on 9-11 November, 2018 for a weekend of incredible music, art and connection. Phase one tickets are on sale now, ranging from HK$570 (a one-day pass for students) to HK$1,620 (a three-day general admission pass), and the prices are only going to go up from here.
If you’re new to Hong Kong, Clockenflap releases their musical lineup in stages – and they tend to save the best for last. It’s worth springing for a ticket even if you’re not crazy about the acts yet. Clockenflap has something for everyone, from children’s play areas, to roving art instillations and even an area for locally-made crafts.
Check out the Best of 2017 video to get a glimpse into the crazy world of Clockenflap. Now held on the Central waterfront, this could just be the most convenient festival in the world: no camping required. So far, they’ve announced a handful of incredible performers, like Interpol, Khalid, David Byrne, Caribou, Wolf Alice, Cornelius and more. You can check out the full lineup of artists (so far) here.
If you can’t wait another month, come to Lan Kwai Fong and check out some of our favourite live music venues. Looking for something indie? Head to Orange Peel, a hipster-venue that attracts local bands, singers and even poets. Just want to dance? Insomnia is the spot for you – open since 1999, it’s Lan Kwai Fong-famous for great late-night performances.
