Have you had your fill of longevity noodles and dumplings? Then do something different for Chinese New Year in 2020!
Chinese New Year is just around the corner, and Lan Kwai Fong wants to help you celebrate with our ‘Spread the Love’ campaign. We’ve teamed up with all the best spots in town to bring you the best offers on drinking and dining in Central, whether you’re looking for a sit-down meal or a few drinks.
Traditionally, families eat Chinese food during the Lunar New Year, like whole fish, dumplings, sesame balls and longevity noodles. But it’s 2020! Why not try something new, and welcome the Year of the Rat with a totally different kind of meal?
Read on to find a few great alternatives to the typical New Year’s banquet, right here in Lan Kwai Fong. And if you’re hungry for more, you can find all the ‘Spread the Love’ deals here.
Lan Kwai Fong’s original Japanese restaurant is still one of the best, and that’s why we love Tokio Joe. For ‘Spread the Love’, they’re offering Lan Kwai Fong devotees two exclusive discounts. Groups of up to five people can enjoy a 20% discount from the a la carte dinner menu, while larger groups of six get a stellar 30% off the same menu. Now if that’s not good fortune, we don’t know what is.
Both offers are available Monday – Sunday (excluding Valentine’s Day) and you can find all the details here.

Families often end their Chinese New Year meal with a whole fish to represent the auspicious year ahead. This year, modernise that tradition at Kyoto Joe, where you can finish your meal of Japanese favourites with innovative sushi? The restaurant is actually in the middle of refurbishment, and will re-open in February, just in time for belated celebrations. And, just for ‘Spread the Love’, they’re offering 20% off the a la carte dinner menu for groups of up to five people.
This exclusive offer is available Monday – Sunday (excluding Valentine’s Day), and you can find all the details here.

Ivan the Kozak
Swap your traditional Chinese New Year dumplings for varenyky, an Eastern European dumpling that will honestly dazzle you. It’s rare to find such delicious Ukrainian and Russian food in Hong Kong, so we say, take advantage when you can. To tempt you even further, they’re offering 20% discounts off the whole menu (Sunday – Thursday) and 10% off on Fridays and Saturday. Come prepared to toast in the New Year again and again, because everyone gets served a shot of imported vodka.

A lot of people choose to travel over Chinese New Year, but if you’re staying in town, you can always pretend! Book a table at Café Siam, recognised by the Michelin Guide as the city’s most established Thai restaurant. Spread across two floors, it’s a surprisingly calm oasis right in the heart of buzzing Lan Kwai Fong. What’s especially tempting is that they’re offering guests a special deal for ‘Spread the Love’. For every three lunches (or brunches!), you get a complimentary one on the house, and you can tuck into signature Thai desserts for a whopping 70% off after your main. We’re tempted to have Thai every night.
The buy-3-get-1 deal is available on lunch and brunch sets only. The dessert discount applies to ever HK$150 main course purchased. See all the details here.
