Butterfly on LKF Proves Lan Kwai Fong is the Place to be for Business Travellers

Everyone knows Lan Kwai Fong is Hong Kong’s favourite party district – with great bars, restaurants and clubs around every turn. But there’s more to these streets than sake and happy hour. With the recent opening of Butterfly on LKF, we wanted to remind everyone that Lan Kwai Fong is actually the ideal spot for business travellers to call their home-away-from-home in Hong Kong.

The new boutique hotel is the latest addition to the Butterfly Hospitality Group’s portfolio. They’ve been serving travellers since 2008, and their chic hotels are known for great service, convenient locations and a certain je ne sais quoi that keeps guests coming back time after time. Just opened last month on D’Aguilar Street, the beautifully appointed Butterfly on LKF was designed with business travellers in mind.

Don’t believe us? Read on to discover just a few reasons why the new hotel is the best place for business travellers to stay in Hong Kong.

Easy to Get Around

This one is obvious, but Lan Kwai Fong is one of the most convenient places in Hong Kong. Everything you need is just a short walk outside the Butterfly on LKF hotel lobby. Lan Kwai Fong is full of great restaurants and bars! Want to get a great view of the skyline? The IFC mall and Central Harbourfront are just a few minutes away. And of course, you can always ask the front desk for some local suggestions—even the MTR is easy to get to.

The Hotel Itself

Savvy business travellers know it’s not about the destination – it’s about the hotel. What good is a beautiful beach when you’re stuck inside working on reports? Get your work done and a good night’s sleep at the brand-new Butterfly on LKF. With just 34 rooms, this contemporary boutique offers the best of both worlds. Yes, it’s beautifully designed, but don’t let that distract you from the important stuff: like super-fast (and free!) WiFi, a complementary smartphone with unlimited 4G and local calls and a multimedia docking station for all of your devices. They even offer pocket WiFi that can connect up to five devices – so you’ll never miss an email again. Make sure to stop by Liz Coffee on the second floor for your daily caffeine kick. They make it all: pour overs, espresso, cold brews, lattes, chai lattes and even kombucha; and there are even tables to work at while you wait.

Business Lunches Galore

It can be tough to find a good spot to eat in a new city when every meal is a ‘working meal’. Luckily, Lan Kwai Fong has a number of restaurants that are perfect for the visiting professional. Impress your colleagues or clients at Carbone Hong Kong, just up the hill from Butterfly on LKF. At night, this Italian red sauce joint is lively and dramatic, the closest thing to dinner and a show you’ll find in town. But book a table for lunch and enjoy the same great food in a more restrained atmosphere (they usually serve it family style, but they do have a special lunch menu meant for business people!). In the mood for steak? Head to Porterhouse, in California Tower. The recently revamped space obviously serves up mouth watering cuts of meat, but their sides are also second to none– and it's got one of the best outdoor terraces in the city. For lighter bites, head to Fumi for contemporary Japanese food and great sake.

Plenty of Space to Work

Even though you’ve got a great hotel, it’s always nice to stretch your legs and find a new place to work. And that can be difficult in an unfamiliar city – but thankfully, Lan Kwai Fong has coworking spaces that take the guess work out of working. High up in California Tower is Metta. Not only does it have a great view over the city, but it’s basically the home-away-from-home of offices, with multiple rooms to work in, a coffee bar and more. Just a little walk up the hill is LKF Tower, which will soon house a WeWork, complete with conference rooms, private booths and jazzy extras like fruit water. Sadly, these are both members-only locations, but if you’re travelling through town often enough it might be worth getting a membership – if only for the views!

Nearby Night Caps
The emails are answered, the workday is done and the computer is finally off. It’s time to treat yourself to a nightcap or two, and Lan Kwai Fong has you covered. Head to Employees Only for lively atmosphere and strong cocktails, or find a quiet corner of Stockton, Hong Kong’s favourite speakeasy, to nurse on a cocktail in peace. If you’re craving an upscale tipple, Bar De Luxe is always a good idea. Tucked into Attire House, a men’s fashion boutique, this Japanese cocktail bar was opened by the legendary Hidetsugo Ueno of Bar High Five.
