Because the camera always drinks first…
If you didn’t take a picture of it, did it really happen? Whether you’re the King of Snapchat, or an Instagram Queen, you need to give your adoring followers what they want: fresh new content. And what’s better than an amazing cocktail?
Here, we break down some of our favourite spots for a cheeky ‘gram. Not only do they serve incredible cocktails, but the venues themselves are picture perfect.
Read on to find four of our favourite bars for taking great Instagram photos, and don’t forget to bring some extra lights! The bars can get pretty dark.
Hong Kong loves a bit of mystery, so it’s no surprise we have yet another speakeasy in town. Room 309 is the latest creation from Hong Kong’s cocktail master, Antonio Lai and Tastings Group. “Hidden” on the third floor of The Pottinger, this cosy space only seats 22, and delivers creative, elegant cocktails like this Fluffy Pineapple Martini. The restaurant’s dramatic décor makes a beautiful backdrop for your snaps, if you can remember to take any.
Honi Honi Tiki Lounge
Hong Kong’s first tiki bar delivers more than just an island oasis, it’s also a great spot for photos. Everyone knows they serve delicious island-inspired cocktails, but their whimsical cups also make for a great Instagram post. We love the classic Easter Island heads and the cheeky monkey, but the real show stopper is the HK$2,888 Around the World. This four-litre drink is served in globe, and is the perfect opportunity to bust out that #wanderlust tag.

Another speakeasy, Foxglove is one of the chicest places in the 852 for a drink. This “umbrella shop” (aka- super swanky bar with the best live music in town, and a new cocktail menu) is a great place to go for the ‘gram. The retro-glam interiors and classic glassware will make your friends think you’re way fancier than you are. Throw up a picture of the live band, and people will be trying to find your secret spot all night long.
Ashely Sutton never lets Instagram down, and his latest collaboration with Dining Concepts is no exception. This boutique cocktail lounge has an otherworldly glow, thanks to a ceiling of turquois Tiffany-inspired lamps. The attention to detail here is second-to-none, and you’ll find beautiful things (like 500 cast iron dragonflies) in every corner to photograph.
