Tell your colleagues, bring a friend: the Lan Kwai Fong Beer and Music Festival is back. Pencil in Saturday July 15 and Sunday July 16.
The Beer and Music Festival has been a part of the party scene for 14 years, making it one of the longest-running, most fun, free, boozy summer celebrations. And this year it’s all about the energetic vibes of summer with a Tropical Oasis theme. All of Lan Kwai Fong will be transformed into an oasis of palm trees, complete with flamingos, and fully blinged-out in pastels, neons and palm trees.
To match the scenery, there’s summer craft brews, flamboyant tropical cocktails and tantalising international delicacies. There are more than 50 booths delivering the tastiest of snacks from across the globe, including takoyaki, gelato, burgers and skewers.
And there’s beer, many, many beers – more than 100, in fact. There are imported craft beers from the United States, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico and the Netherlands. Add to that Hong Kong’s finest craft brews from fine brewers such as Gweilo Beers, Mak’s Brewery and HK Beer Company, and you’ve got a good idea of what an awesome event this is going to be.
But there’s more! Expect amusement park stalls, a special Slava’s Snowshow experience and the uplifting vibe continues with live music performances by 22 Hong Kong bands, including Dusty Bottle, Nasty Dudes, Shotgun Politics and Shumking Mansion.
“Marking its 14th anniversary, Lan Kwai Fong Beerfest has been one of the city’s signature events. It not only attracts hundreds of thousands of foreign tourists and Hong Kong people every year, but also draws a lot of media attention. It is definitely an unmissable event this summer,” says Lan Kwai Fong Association Chairman Allan Zeman.
We agree wholeheartedly. Set aside the dates and get there there.
