#MyLKF with Christoffer Cheng

We’re kicking off a new feature on lankwaifong.com where we talk to our favourite Hong Kong KOLs about their favourite things to do, eat and drink in the city’s best party district. To start, we spoke with Hong Kong’s most enviable dentist, Christoffer Cheng (AKA @CuriousChristoffer).

When he’s not fixing smiles, Christoffer is jet-setting around the world and showing his 44 thousand followers how to live their best lives. While sun-bathing in Corsica is nice, and wandering the streets of Amsterdam is lovely, when he’s back in Hong Kong he takes Lan Kwai Fong on like the rest of us, Aperol Spritz in hand.

How long have you been going to LKF?
Hmm, since I was 16!

What’s your earliest memory in Lan Kwai Fong?
Back in high school when I used to go there for lunch. My school was just up the hill.

Do you have a favourite memory from the area?
Obviously, the crazy nights I've had there! My favourite ones will probably be the Halloween nights out. Once you're dressed up, you feel like you can experience the world with a different identity, which is pretty cool!

Is there a great spot for photos we should know about?
Definitely the rooftop bars, such as Townhouse and CÉ LA VI.

As a photographer, do you have any tips on taking a great snap when you’re in low light?
The ideal way is to use the help of a tripod. But if not, try using a lens with a larger aperture so it can take in more light.

What would your dream night out in Lan Kwai Fong be?
I love happy hour at CÉ LA VI, so you can enjoy a nice sunset. Then dinner at Carbone, for amazing Italian! As for after dinner, there are just too many places! But to name a few, Lily & Bloom, Tasmania Ballroom and Employees Only.

Where is your favourite happy hour?
CÉ LA VI!

What about restaurant, is there someplace you love to grab a bite?
I love the little secret Sichuan place just upstairs across China Bar. It’s kind of hidden, but very authentic dishes.

Do you prefer to go out in big groups or small ones?
Small ones, but it usually grows into a big group by the end of the night, that's the fun part!

Are you more into clubbing or drinks with friends?
Nowadays I definitely prefer nice drinks with friends, though a big once in a while will be nice.

If we want to buy you a drink, what’s your order?
Depends on the weather, I'd like an Aperol Spritz if it's hot outside; and maybe a Negroni if it's cool out.
