In our opinion, nothing trumps Japanese food. The nation has so many varied and delicious foods, we can never get enough. If you want to celebrate Christmas or New Year’s Eve with Japanese food, we don’t blame you and there’s only one place to go: Fumi. It’s an original, modern, but still authentic, Japanese restaurant that serves up affordable fine dining fare in the middle of Hong Kong. The restaurant is luxe, the ingredients are amazing, and the wine and spirit list is perfect for the holidays. Kyoto Joe

Who says you need to have roast for Christmas dinner? Kyoto Joe is throwing out all traditions with its fantastic Japanese menu (HK$490 + 10% per person). Expect grilled scallop with Japanese eggplant, sashimi of botan prawn, Berkshire pork ramen and other delicious dishes. The dinner menu is only available on 24 December.
If you haven’t made any dinner plans for New Year’s Eve, check out this amazing menu (HK$620 + 10% per person) at Kyoto Joe. The divine selection includes seared Miyazaki sirloin steak, a selection of sashimi and over-baked silver cod.

Tokio Joe

On Christmas, Tokio Joe presents a wonderful 8-course dinner menu (HK$688 + 10% per person). They will be cooking up some of our favourites such as wagyu tempura, Inaniwa udon with seafood and sashimi of toro, tuna, salmon, crab leg and fresh oyster. Do we need to say more?
On New year’s Eve, Tokio Joe will be offering quite the menu (HK$788 + 10%). From grilled lamb chops to Teppan fried udon, the variety of dishes will thrill you.

Beef & Liberty

This season is all about comfort food, which is why Beef & Liberty has created two special menus. Whether you prefer a burger or steak, both menus (HK$328 per person and HK$486 per person) will satisfy your cravings. Treat yourself to mouthwatering chili cheese fries and cauliflower cheese bites to start. The menus will be served for the entire month of December.
If that sounds like too much of a good thing, order the Sweet Baby Cheesus burger special. Featuring a juicy beef patty, stacked with melted brie, stilton, caramelised onions, pickles and sweet cranberry sauce. For the hardcore drinkers, there’s also a free-flow drinks menu (from HK$105 to HK$280)

CÉ LA VI is going all out this season with winter cocktails and a scrumptious Christmas menu. For the holidays, Executive Chef Jason Au creates an Asian-inspired dinner menu (HK$888 + 10% per person), which you can indulge in all of December. Their brunch (HK$488 + 10% per person) is not to be missed either, offering platters of fresh seafood, sushi, robatayaki, tempura and much more. Top it off with tiers of free-flow Veuve Clicquot champagne (from HK$298). The brunch menu runs from 23-26 December.
Warm yourself with one of CÉ LA VI’s delectable winter cocktails. Grab a blanket on the Sky Deck and cozy up with a Toddy Baron Otard or Hot Buttered Rum (both HK$128).

Ciao Chow

For Christmas eve, Ciao Chow will be serving up a delightful and wholesome buffet (HK$488 + 10% per person). On the 24th of December you’ll be able to over-indulge during one of the two sessions. Book your table from 6pm till 8:30pm or 9pm and 11:30pm. Don’t forget to quench your thirst with free-flow drinks (HK$528 + 10% per person).

When it comes to Italian cuisine Mercato is high on our list. Capturing the essence of Italy, Mercato serves heartwarming authentic dishes with a twist such as the Honey Nut Ravioli, and Black Truffle Pizza for Christmas. The sharing menu will be available from 21-30 December and offers four amazing courses (HK$488 + 10% per person).

They’ll also be offering a New Year’s Eve sharing menu (HK$788 + 10% per person) with tuna tartare, lobster spaghetti and Veal Osso Bucco to name a few. The night wouldn’t be complete without champagne. There will be a free flow Champagne and Wines menu (HK$398 for two hours and HK$188 per additional hour) so you can ring in the new yea in style.


Most people don’t think of Christmas and Thai food as being a good match, but most people are wrong. This year, Ayuthaiya is taking guests on a culinary tour of Thailand with their four-course menu, with dishes like Tom yum goong, soft shell crab roll and chicken satay (HK$388 + 10%). Choosing your main will the hardest part, will you go for the oven-baked chicken with red curry, the grilled squid with pineapple or the butterflied king prawns? You’ll be spoiled for choice! The meal ends with a traditional Thai dessert, banana sticky rice with water chestnut and sweet mango ice cream. No passport required for this little trip to Thailand!

The Christmas dinner menu is available until 30 December, 2017 and comes with a complimentary cocktail on arrival.

If you're celebrating with a large group of friends and family, check out the Thai snacks offering (from HK$208 to HK$248 per person), which can be combined with two blissful hours of unlimited drinks (HK$250 per person).

This rustic eatery offers both regular menu and vegetarian menu for diners in NYE. Some special dishes in the regular one include Marinated Raw Big Eye Tuna and Wagyu Sirloin; whilst Fresh Italian Burrata and Truffle Casarecce are featured in the vegetarian menu. 2 seating available.

In town for Christmas? No worries, head to Havana and soak up the sun with one of their authentic mojitos. Ideal for those who will be celebrating in large groups, Havana is serving canapes and two-hours of unlimited drinks (HK$400 per person).

Sometimes small bites won't satisfy your appetite. In that case, why not indulge in the scrumptious buffet (HK$300 per person), paired with unlimited drinks (HK$280 per person). All the ingredients for a perfect night!

This newcomer to Lan Kwai Fong only opened in the summer, but it’s already one of our favourite spots for contemporary Asian cuisine. It’s fun, sexy, decadent and delicious – a perfect choice for holiday libations. They have three menus available for Christmas, a vegetarian set (HK$488 per person), premium (HK$988 per person) and signature (HK$788 per person), and each comes with a bartender’s choice of cocktail and a beautiful dessert like ginger crème brûlée, green tea and white chocolate fondant and chocolate fondant, depending on the menu you choose.

For New Year’s Eve they’re also serving up a selection of options. There is the opulent Menu A, with soft shell crab, foie gras, lamb rack and roasted duck among other tasty dishes and the hearty Menu B, with a crispy duck roll, pork ribs, honey-grilled Chilean seabass and more. Each comes with a cocktail on arrival and a glass of Champagne to toast at midnight. Cheers to that!

FoFo by el Willy

Kick off the festivities with a Christmas lunch. FoFo by el Willy will be serving up their best dishes from 2017. Expect classics bites on their menu (HK$450 + 10% per person) such as the Salpicon Seafood Salad and Beef Tartare.

For those of you who can’t get enough of Spanish cuisine, there’s also a dinner menu (HK$738 + 10% per person). The Iberico Ham and Foie Gras Cream Airbags and Spanish Chuleton Beef will blow your mind. Both menus will be available on 24, 25, 26 and 31 December as well as 1 January.

For New Year’s Eve, FoFo by el Willy has created a special menu offering unique tapas and main courses (HK$738+ 10%). The menu will be available from 31 December till 1 January. Wrap up the night with a drink on the roof and a swing on the dance floor (HK$200 for three drinks and a complimentary glass of champagne).

Lily & Bloom

Indulge in American comfort food at Lily & Bloom this Christmas. Kick off the festivities by treating yourself to their crab ravioli and some of the finest cocktails in town. This beautiful, moody Italian spot is a great place to hold your festive meal, with two set menu offerings. For lunch, it’s a three-course menu of nostalgic favourites like tiger prawns in arrabiata sauce, veal cheek in red wine polenta or baked cod (HK$128 per person + 10%). The four-course dinner menu starts with zucchini and eggplant with ricotta cheese and grilled peppers, followed by rich gnocchi in a blue cheese sauce (HK$288 per person + 10%). Finish it off with a panettone and homemade gelato, and it’ll feel like you’re back in Italy.

Say ‘ole’ this Christmas at Zafran, one of our favourite tapas restaurants in town. They’re serving up modern-interpretations of Spanish classics with a three-course lunch menu and four-course dinner menu. For lunch, Executive Chef Miguel is preparing a beautiful Canelón de Sant Esteve, a traditional meal served throughout the nation on St Stephens Day (aka Boxing Day) (HK$148 per person + 10%) . For dinner, you can tuck into pan-fried Hokkaido scallops with sweetcorn cream and Ibérico ham, their signature Segovian-style suckling pig or a beautiful seafood paella (HK$500 per person + 10%). Feliz navidad to that!
