The AIA Carnival is back for its sixth year, and it’s better than ever before.
Come one, come all, to Hong Kong’s biggest big top! You’ve seen the AIA Carnival set up on the Central Harbourfront, now get ready to find out why you have to go. Even if you’ve been before, this year promises to be even better, with a host of new rides, even better food and mind-bending circus performances. In short, this is the place to be.
Read on to find out all the exciting new experiences at the AIA Carnival.
This one is for the thrill seekers. The AIA Carnival has added a host of new adrenaline-inducing rides to their line-up. Those who like a scare should jump on The Ghost Train, a haunting ride that takes you through spooky scenes around every turn. If you crave excitement, Inversion is for you. The new ride spins you in every possible direction and isn’t for the faint of heart. Finally, Starflyer is back! We’ve missed it the last two years and can’t wait to get on and see the skyline as we fly around the ride’s central tower and get the best view in town.
One of the highlights of the year is the debut of eSports at the Carnival this year! AIA Carnival and DRA’s Hong Kong-based subsidiary have launched the first outdoor commercial activation of drone racing in Hong Kong at the Carnival, allowing many members of the Hong Kong public the opportunity to sample the experience of FPV drone flight for the very first time. Held within a large drone cage, the activation has received the first flight permit for an outdoor commercial activity of FPV drone racing from the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department, and is supported by organizations including Cyberport to promote eSports in Hong Kong.
Learning about FPV drone racing is not only fun, but also a valuable skill and learning opportunity for all ages. Aside from the activation inside the cage, DRA in partnership with HK FPV racers will also bring a number of STEM programmes from the US to Hong Kong in 2020 at the AIA carnival.
Got a competitive streak? Well then, step right up, because the carnival has all the classic games you’d expect (and some you might not have seen before). Even better, they’ve got prizes you actually want to win, like all the newest film characters. Think Abominable, The Snowman and The Snow Dog, Deadpool, Ironman, Thor and Captain America. Whether you’re winning these for yourself, your kids, or your date, you can rest assured the prizes will be very well loved.
All this fun can work up a serious appetite. Thankfully, they’ve got snacks. In fact, Hong Kong celebrity chef Christian Yang is lending his expertise to AIA Carnival to make their offerings even more delicious than before. Of course, you’ll find some of the classics like popcorn, cotton candy and even curry fish balls, but Yang and the F&B vendors are working on a truly impressive selection of fare that’s worth exploring. Come hungry!
It’s not really a carnival without a circus, is it? Pop into the Big Top to see Ring Master Ryan leads his motley troupe of amazing stars. Be captivated as he leads acrobats, clowns, trapeze artists, aerial performers and glamorous dancers for a show you won’t forget. This one is great for all ages, but don’t blame us if you want to run away and join the circus.
