Because even pups know that #brunchlife is #bestlife at Ovolo Southside
If you’re as dog-obsessed as we are at LanKwaiFong, then you know that Ovolo Hotels is now dog-friendly! They recently launched #VIPooch, inviting guests to stay with their four-legged friends at any Ovolo Hotel in Hong Kong and Australia. We’ve been closely following this news, as Hong Kong’s most famous canines have been posting all over social media. @Steven.the.mutt and @Crosbythedood treated their fur-parents to a weekend of views and surprise swag-bags – and we’re obsessed.
As if that’s not enough, Ovolo Hotels has dropped even more huge news: they’re celebrating International Dog Day with a Doggy Brunch on Komune’s iconic terrace. On 25 August they’re having a full-blown dog “pawty”, complete with pup-friendly mocktails. It’s even BYOB (it stands for Build Your Own (Dog) Bowl, of course).
Humans are invited to join and enjoy their own brunch. Ovolo Southside’s culinary team is generously preparing their beloved people-friendly options. It’s a combination of buffet style and table service, so you can help yourself to antipasti, assorted breads, salads and a seafood station, before tucking into a few small plates to share, like crab and avocado crostini and corn and chili fritters.
They have a selection of mains to choose from. Craving breakfast? The soft scrambled eggs with burrata, cherry tomatoes and grilled sourdough are a must-try. If you’re torn between savoury and sweet, opt for the French toast with fried chicken— this American classic is the best of both worlds. As the pups bark and play on the terrace, you can finish your afternoon with a sugar rush at the dessert buffet.
And of course, a visit to Komune wouldn’t be complete with cocktails! Indulge even more with two hours of free flow. If your pooch wants to keep the party going even longer, you can extend your free flow for an extra two hours on their chic rooftop! If you’re too tired to go home, you can always stay the night now that dogs are welcome in their cool industrial rooms!
