We’ve rounded up the best New Year’s Eve dinners, now we’re bringing you the hottest parties to dance the decade away. From rooftop soirees to basement karaoke nights, you can’t go wrong at these Hong Kong favourites, guaranteed to start 2020 on the right note.

Popinjays

This year Popinjays, The Murray’s incredible rooftop restaurant and bar, is helping guests get loose with the New Year’s Eve Shake Your Tail Feathers Countdown Party. Expect a host of live DJ performances from the city’s best and some of the best cityscape views in town. Both general tickets (which include a complimentary glass of house pour) and Bottomless Countdown tickets (free-flow house pours from 9:30pm-3am, with champagne for the countdown hour) are available.

General tickets are available for HK$488, and Bottomless Countdown tickets are HK$1,488; table packages for four are available for HK$7,888.

Duddell’s

Hong Kong’s favourite New Year’s Eve hangout is back again with a massive celebration. This year, they’re transforming into “The Grand Theatre”, their sixth (and biggest) yet. “The Grand Theatre” is a cultural exploration of east and west, so don your cheongsam and finest Chinoiserie to sip free-flow cocktails and Champagne until the clock strikes 12. Then tuck into a selection of Cantonese bites to ring in the new year on a delicious note.

Ho Lee Fook

This one is for the true party people, the one who thrive in the early hours and never say no to a shot. It’s Ho Lee Fook’s New Year’s Eve Legendary karaoke Party. Head into this basement favourite for free-flow drinks in the coolest restaurant in town. If you think Ho Lee Fook is buzzy during regular dinner, wait until you see it on New Year’s Eve, this one is guaranteed to be one of the hottest tickets in town. And while you don’t have to sing, you’ll want to. Trust us.

Foxglove

With the decade coming to a close, it’s easy to get nostalgic. Foxglove certainly is, because they’re taking guests all the way back to the 90’s this New Year’s Eve with their NYE Countdown Party: Back to the 90s. Book your ticket to enjoy four hours of free-flow, and unlimited vintage tunes like Nirvana, TLC and Radiohead. The Solution band will also be playing some live soul-music, to switch things up. JNCO wide-leg jeans not needed.

Zuma

Go all-out this New Year’s Eve with a festive masquerade countdown at Zuma. If you’ve been to their free-flow weekend brunch, then you know Zuma throws an incredible party. They’ve outdone themselves on this one, which promises free-flow Veuve Clicquot Champagne and DJ Emmanuel Diaz on the decks all night long.

Tickets for Zuma’s New Year’s Eve party start at HK$890 and include three hours of cocktails, Veuve Clicquot Champagne, red and white wine, beer and soft drinks.
